People are weird

As a species, humans are bizarre. I could end this blog post there as I'm sure not many of you would disagree with this sentiment. Just a quick check on any social media can instantly show you how odd we are in general.

I find my personal favourite odd trait is one of passive aggression, it always brings a smile to my face when somebody puts so much effort into trying to assert themselves without having to be remotely assertive. For example; I was told someone was ignoring me recently; (we had reviously had a disagreement many moons back, I will always maintain that I was 100% in the right, they probably feel the same way), the problem being that I was blissfully unaware, I don't know how long this person has been ignoring me, nor do I care, (we never did really get on, we had a tenuous link at best). The thing that pleases and puzzles me in equal measure about this is that I had zero idea, so they weren't even getting any kind of response from my end, surely that is meant to be the pay-off here!? Otherwise, it can't be fully satisfying surely!

Most creatures on the planet just plod along trying to survive, humans on the other hand are just odd, filling our lives with hobbies, dramas, rivalries and well, nonsense really.

I hasten to add that I fully encourage people to embrace their weirdness, quirks and foibles, in fact for a lot of folks - that's their most interesting aspect! I'm also odd; I'm emotionally detached from a lot of my family, I'm an avid collector of "stuff", I do things purely to entertain myself and despite spouting nonsense myself - I cannot stand others talking rubbish. Like I said - odd!

I guess what I'm saying is that people, by and large, are strange, irrational, complicated, insecure, neurotic and unpredictable animals and if you stop and look at humanity in general - it's fairly surreal.

Just an observation really, feel free to ignore it, I shan't be offended.
